Grid Trap - Enhanced Aquarius+ Edition

This is a specially enhanced version of Grid Trap. This version has been upgraded to take advantage of some of the new features available on the Aquarius+ range of machines. This version will not run on the standard OG Aquarius. However, a version for the Aquarius fitted with the ME or MX addon will be available soon through Cronosoft on physical cassette. So stay tuned!

Playing Grid Trap+

Once the main screen appears you get to choose the size of the Grid (the play field). Pressing ‘g’ will change the highlight to represent the grid size:

(R)Random size – Generate a random play field between 7 and 20

(S)Small – Generate a grid that is 9x9

(M)Medium – Generate a grid that is 13x13

(L)Large – Generate a grid that is 18x18

Pressing 'm' will turn off the music

Once you have chosen the grid size, pressing ‘s’ will begin the game. You will be placed on to the grid in a random starting position, as well as the Gridroid. The Gridroid’s mission is to hunt you down. He will stop at nothing to get to you, and remove you from the Grid. Your mission is to instruct R.A.L.F to move through the grid in a way that will trap the Gridroid. There are additional elements also placed on the grid, to help you trap the Gridroid.

The game is played by moving Ralph within the grid. You can instruct Ralph to move either North, East, South or West. Press the corresponding key, followed by RTN to make Ralph move. Once Ralph moves, the Gridroid will move. If you need to restart the game, you can also press ‘r’ at the Move prompt to restart the game with a new grid.

As the game progresses, the Gridroid gets smarter, and you will not be able to fool it quite so easily!! Also, as you progress through the levels, the number of helpful aids placed on the grid gets fewer, and the Gridroids trap destroyer gets better. Try to score as much as you can, while trying to defeat as many Gridroids as possible. The game ends when you have lost all 3 lives.

Note to player: The small grids are great fun to play when you need just a quick game blast!

This game has been tested with Aquarius+ System v0.33 and plusBASIC v0.22x
